Objectives

Following the increasing interest from younger performers since our 2002 panto, it has been decided to set up a dedicated youth section.

The original CAST group had historically not attracted younger people due to the shows being produced, but the diversification into panto over recent years has changed that.

In order that our expanding younger membership can be kept actively involved with the group throughout the year, CAST Academy will give them a chance to shine in their own productions. This ensures that the young talent has the opportunity to develop in readiness for eventual participation in main CAST productions when opportunities arise.

CAST Academy sets out to develop the younger members performing skills as they work towards an end oif term production. There will also be a series of workshops covering the many varied aspects of the performing arts and members will get a chance to learn skills behind the scenes such as Direction, Stage Management, Lighting Design and Sound Engineering.

The Academy shows will involve the youngsters taking on all key roles under the guidance of the experienced CAST team.
